Introduction
The South Coast Amateur Radio Group consists of some 75 mature Amateurs mostly retirees holding the advanced licence.
The Group was formed by 5 Gold Coast Amateurs
in the year 2000.
At the first meeting of the Group a committee of five was elected including a Secretary and Treasurer.
A Constitution as later adopted and a monthly news letter arranged.
Meetings
The Group holds a committee meeting quarterly in the premises allotted to the Group.
The location is central Gold Coast being at Nerang that is just inland from Surfers Paradise and has recently been renamed GAVEN.
All facilities are available inside with a B.B.Que available in a pleasant garden setting on the acreage site 600 feet A.S.L.
An incoming QSL service is provided to Members by co-operation with the W.I.A Inwards Manager.
Club Activities & Events
Not being a Club the Group refrains from activities normally attributed to such organisations.
Our friendly Group of Amateurs liase regularly either on the 80 metre Group Net held every Thursday at 19.30 EST, the frequency being
3605KHz or on the daily repeater frequency of 147.800MHz with a negative offset at 9am EST.
An annual event is held immediately after Christmas usually a sit-down dinner with all the trimmings.
