Introduction

The Group had its first meetings in 1955 before becoming Incorporated in 1958. The main interest of members is in weak signal work and studying propagation in the amateur radio bands 50 MHz and above. It has established a network of beacons - mainly on 50, 144, 432 MHz but also on 1296, 5760 and 10368 MHz.

Meetings

Meets 4th Monday of month at 1930hrs Local for a 2000hrs Local start. Also 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 1200hours
At the Wireless Hill operators cottage, Meeting Room, Ardross.

Club Activities & Events

(October 2015) projected development of 23cm aerials, GPS locked local oscillators & converters using 2m IF's. Transmitters to follow in due course. Further development in to digital dx modes & EME activities in 2016. A standardized GPS locked radio beacon to replace the existing beacons which need to be upgraded to more modern equipment (2019). History of Amateur Radio in WA at Wireless Hill Telecommunications Museum,on the site until December 2020.
