About WIA Honorary Life Membership
The constitution of the Wireless Institute of Australia states:-
"The Board may in consideration of special services rendered to the Institute or Amateur Radio by a Member nominate the Member as an Honorary Life Member of the Institute. If the nomination is approved by a majority of the Members at a General Meeting entitled to vote at the meeting, the nominated Member shall be elected an Honorary Life Member. "
So this honour is bestowed on very few members and is awarded only after a vote of all members and only at a General Meeting (AGM).
