Introduction

WICEN_WA is the Federated Member Assoc in WA. WICEN is a co-ordination and training body for Amateur Radio Emergency Comms.

WICEN WA is rebuilding at the moment, from the loss of a number of the previous generation of WICEN members who have passed to Silent Key or have retired due to incapacity. (The ravages of time that we all face.)

WICEN seeks to connect and co-ordinate, Wicen members make themselves available at their choice to train and provide service while taking the opportunities to keep themselves in touch with skills.

We seek to be of Supplemental or Auxiliary assistance in times of crisis, and use both education and training opportunities to become assured in being able to provide comms.

Being a member or supporter of WICEN WA does NOT obligate you in anyway, you provide only the time energy and commitment that YOU are comfortable with.

Membership is $25/pa you can pay online by direct deposit to WICEN (WA) INC, P&N Bank BSB:806-015 Acc: 01520672, with your Name or Call as the Reference.

Meetings

Meets 2nd Monday except January, 7pm for a 7:30pm start at 1st Midland Scout Hall, 10 Helen St Bellevue.

We also run a weekly net on both 3.600+/- qrm, and 146.750 and the Linked Repeater Network. Wednesday Evenings 20:00 Hotel, 12:00 Zulu. Net Control VK6WIE is from Bob VK6KW in Northam over VK6RAV linked to VK6RLM and the Hub via Allstar.

Club Activities & Events

We have Assisted with car rallies as such a training opportunity in portable structured communications, as an example.

We seek to integrate with state regional and local emergency plans.

Some WA HAMS are also active members of other emergency/support organisations such as DFES, SES, St. John's and others.

We are in the process of actively seeking to learn the landscape of what accredited training courses relevant to our operations are available and will do our best to make some or all available to members and supporters in due course.
