On the evening of Tuesday the 22nd of September members of the ACT's Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club were joined by WIA President Michael Owen VK3KI for a presentation on the WIA.

CRARC club President Alan Hawes VK1WX reported the evening to be well attended and a huge success. Alan said Michael’s presentation was "well received and enlightened those present as to how the WIA operates and the services it provides as well as explaining some of the challenges ahead in terms of cost recovery and the need to be proactive in recruiting new WIA members".

The meeting was adjourned for coffee at around 8:45 and resumed shortly afterwards with an opportunity for those present to ask Michael questions. The meeting concluded at 9:30pm with the door prize, an Icom IC208H supplied by Strictly Ham being won by Peter Ellis VK1KEP.

On behalf of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, Alan thanked Michael for taking the time to visit their club.
