Are you an Amateur Radio Operator and a Firefighter, either fulltime or Volunteer, or a Paramedic and are you on Facebook?
If so you are invited to join a Group for Firefighters and Amateur Radio Operators. The purpose of the page is to foster a tighter bond between the worldwide fire service and amateur radio. They hope that by increasing the awareness between the two, they might be able to have a ham shack in every fire brigade/firehouse in the world as a dependable backup for the dispatch radios. The FCC has allowed emergency first responders to use the amateur frequencies as a secondary means of communications but only if they are first clas licensed amateur radio operators.
