On Sunday the 30th of May during the WIA Centenary convention held in Canberra, the weekly Sunday morning VK1WIA broadcast hosted by Graham VK4BB was transmitted live from the radio shack at the Rydges Lakeside Hotel. It was then uploaded to the WIA website for further retransmission around the globe.

The broadcast prompted host VK4BB to (tongue in cheek) change his call sign to VK0BB on that cold Canberra Morning! Also appearing on the broadcast thanks to Robert VK3DNs earlier recordings were Centenary Patron Dick Smith VK2DIK and ISS Astronaut Tracy Caldwell-Dyson KF5DBF
The broadcast was also filmed to be aired on Melbourne’s Digital ATV repeater.
