The first 3,000 cards issued for the Wireless Institute of Australia’s special centenary callsign VK100WIA have been sent to the QSL bureaux. WIA Secretary Geoff Atkinson VK3AFA and Robert Broomhead VK3DN burnt the midnight oil last night to print and pack the cards.
The process was to use the data in the online logging system for VK100WIA to complete the contacts details on the pre-printed QSL cards. And more than a dozen overseas radio amateurs from Brunei, India, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand and the USA have shown their eagerness to get a VK100WIA card. They have sent their QSLs direct to the WIA Office, included return postage, and should receive a VK100WIA card in a week or so.
