Melbourne's Eastern and Mountain District Radio Club are operating the VK100WIA special callsign during the period Friday 17th to Monday 20th of September (this weekend). The unprecedented popularity for people wishing to make contact with VK100WIA has seen around 600 contacts logged to date during the first half of the three day operating period.
A sophisticated multi-camera operation complete with vision mixing is broadcasting the clubs activation live via Melbourne's VK3RTV-1 amateur television repeater with the transmission also viewable worldwide via the internet courtesy of the BATC streaming server.
