The inaugural Tune-In To The World, amateur radio gets people talking, is a public relations event on Saturday 23 October welcomes four more radio clubs who have now registered online via the WIA website. They are the Illawarra Amateur Radio Society, Darwin Amateur Radio Club, Orana Region Amateur Radio Club and in Northern Tasmania the Cradle Coast Amateur Radio Club.

They will join more than two dozen other operating display stations around the nation. Organisers of the event say it is not too late for more clubs and groups of radio amateurs to be involved and this unique event that promotes amateur radio to the general public. To run a 'public' category amateur radio station and display requires at least three radio amateurs.

Equally important are individual radio amateurs operating as 'private' category stations from their home QTH, portable or mobile and making contact with 'public' category stations generating activity on air.
