The Eastern and Mountain District Radio Club (EMDRC) held it's annual White Elephant Sale today Sunday the 22nd of March at the Great Ryrie Primary School in Heathmont.

Club Treasurer and event coordinator John Longaroux VK3PZ was pleased with how well the day went and was heard saying that this years event had "the best turnout in many years". By 10:30 the retailers and second hand traders had their tables stocked with new and second hand gear and as the doors opened nearly 400 people swarmed into the hall to find the bargains.

WIA Directors Peter Young VK3MV and Robert Broomhead VK3DN manned the WIA stand and welcomed eight people as new members to the WIA. The stand also sold a large number of callbooks, foundation licence manuals and other merchandise.

Lucky door prize winner David Roitman VK3LDR (pictured above) is now the proud owner of a Yaesu VX170 2m handheld courtesy of Vertex Standard. David later visited the WIA stand taking the opportunity to sign up and become a member of the institute.
