Good News D-Star story from Port Lincoln

While the loss of our clubrooms and equipment is sad, it does pale into
insignificance when you compare it to the loss of 12 family homes two days before Christmas. But there is one story from the fire that promotes D-Star which I though I would share.

Bushfire Radio Operator Recognition Day for February 2010

February 7, 2010 is the first anniversary of the disastrous fires in Victoria where 13 major fires burnt 352,686 hectares. 173 lives were lost, over 2000 homes destroyed, countless stock killed, kilometres of fences, sheds and wildlife.

Phil Maskrey VK3HBR was interviewed by Gippsland ABC Radio station presenter Gerard Callinan, the interview went to air simultaneously on 100.7 fm and 828 am at about 7am on the morning of Thursday the 17th of December 2009.
