The RSGB Commonwealth Contest - 12/13 March

The RSGB's Commonwealth Contest takes place over the weekend of 12 and 13 March, from 1000UTC on the Saturday for 24 hours. Activity is on all contest bands from 80 to 10 metres, on CW only. This is a great opportunity for UK stations to work DX in Commonwealth countries. This year there is a new award, the John Dunnington Trophy, available for UK stations using 100 watts and single element antennas such as dipoles, loops or verticals.

New Zealand will be putting on three special ZL6 station during the Commonwealth Contest. The stations and operators are ZL6A, the NZART headquarters station with John, ZL1BHQ, operating; ZL6FF, the FISTS CW Club New Zealand station, operated by Jakey, ZL2JKY / G3JKY; and the ZL6QH Quartz Hill club station, operated by Brian, ZL1AZE.
