The first Foundation Licence in Renmark South Australia

Date : 11 / 12 / 2005
Author : Andrew Williss - VK5LA

Saturday the 10th of December saw the Riverland Radio Club hold it's first Foundation Licence

The small course, with 3 candidates, was delivered by Assessor Andrew Williss VK5LA and Invigilator Ivan Smith VK5HS in Renmark. The course was held over 1 complete, early start-late finish day, and all 3 candidates assessed were successful.

All candidates had been studying their Foundation Licence Manual that they had obtained through the Riverland Radio Club some weeks previously. The candidates had also been honing their on air and practical skills with members of the Riverland Radio Club prior to the course, over several evening tutorial sessions. This allowed the course to have a steady pace with a relaxed atmosphere, and included a Barbeque lunch!

Congratulations to all the candidates and we hope to hear them on the air with their new call signs, on both our club repeater and HF very soon.
