Changes To The 2 Metre And 70 cm Band Plans

Date : 31 / 07 / 2015
Author : John Martin - VK3KM

Changes have been adopted for the 2 metre and 70 cm band plans.

On 2 metres, the changes affect frequencies between 144.700 and 145.800 MHz. These changes include rearrangement of simplex channels and the addition of extra repeater allocations for use in cases where none of the regular channels is available.

On the 70 cm band, changes have been adopted to overcome interference problems caused by LIPD (ìLow Interference Potentialî devices) in the repeater input band 433.050 - 434.790 MHz. These changes include rearrangement of simplex channels and the creation of a new repeater input segment.

On both bands, existing repeaters may remain on their existing frequencies until the licensees choose to initiate a frequency change.

Full details of the changes are available on the WIA web site. From the main menu go to Members - Band Plans - Data.

A full copy of the latest band plans for all bands is also included on the same web page.
