WIA Annual Conference 2020 Update

Registration is now open for the WIA Annual Conference 2020 in Hobart Tasmania from 8-10 May 2020.

In summary the event comprises:

  Friday Afternoon – Tours of the Australian Antarctic Division for 30 lucky people. Buses are provided to/from the AAD. Please note this tour is open to all call areas except VK7. There will also be a club executives gathering during the afternoon.
  Saturday morning - WIA AGM and Open Forum
  Saturday afternoon – Two streams of technical presentations about Antarctica, Radio and much more. For more details check out the WIA Website Link
 Saturday Partners tour taking in Salamanca Market and MONA.
  Saturday night – Conference Dinner with fascinating dinner speaker
  Sunday – Tours of museums and interesting Antarctic and radio related facilities

The Sunday consists of alternating groups between morning and afternoon activities which include two of the following:
* Mawson's Huts Replica Museum,
* Tasmanian Maritime Museum
* Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery - Islands to Ice Exhibition

and the Grote Reber Museum and Radio Telescope. Buses are provided to/from the Grote Reber Museum.

Sunday Night there is a BBQ hosted by the Radio & Electronics Association of Southern Tasmania Inc Link at the Historic Coast Wireless Station.

Mix and match activities on the Sunday or there are some conference bundles to ease the booking process.
