ZL's Jock White Field Day is still on this weekend

Date : 25 / 02 / 2011
Author : Stuart Watchman - ZL2TW

I have received a lot of e-mail corrospondence both directly and forwarded, asking about the Jock White FD this weekend. Understandably many were uncertain if it was still on. I have had discussions with Frank Hunt the NZART contest manager and NZART President Roy Symon, along with some on the ground in Christchurch and do not see any reason why it should not go ahead. As comms are being handled on two metres there is no issue with QRM from 80/40 activity during the JWFD, which is confined to the CW section and not much past 3630 kHz odd.

There may be a national day of mourning in the future, that would be an appropriate time for radio silence.

Regards,

Stuart Watchman
Jock White Field Day Manager
